Top 5 things you should avoid to make your repeat attempt work at this year’s RRB NTPC 2nd stage CBT exam

Posted on January 21, 2019 by Successlynk

If you have been preparing for the Railway RRB NTPC examination, you may be aware that candidates equal to nearly 15 times of vacancies will be called for 2nd stage Computer-based test (CBT) based on the merit position in the 1st Stage CBT. The final selection of candidates for the posts is based on merit performance in the 2nd stage CBT. If you have not cleared 2nd stage CBT, don’t worry. Try again, but with more dedication and determination.

Repeating the same way of study may result in the same results. So make changes in your preparation. It’s your attitude, perseverance and hard work that mark the difference. There are however, a few things you need to avoid in your repeat attempt to ensure that you succeed this time. Let’s take a look at them.

1. Avoid procrastination: Your level of success is determined by your level of discipline and perseverance. If you are preparing for the next attempt, thinking that you have too much time left will only lead you to put off things. It can severely damage your entire study schedule. So make a timetable well ahead of the tentative exam dates and start your preparation. The earlier you start, more relaxing is your pre-exam day.

2. Avoid assumptions: There could be change in syllabus or exam pattern. So do not assume that the same syllabus will be there. Keep updated with the latest information. Check SuccessLynk for updates.

3. Avoid following the same methods to prepare: The same way of doing things gives the same results over and over again. So be creative in your study. Make your own notes. Use colored pens and sketches that help you to memorize the concepts better. Note the current affairs from the start of your preparation. Avoid reading too many books of low standard or blindly following other successful candidates. Every person is unique and has his or her way of understanding things. So follow your intuition. Take up mock tests and practice tests from SuccessLynk . Take feedback to know your strengths and weaknesses section wise. Allot more time for weak areas. Solve past year papers. Prepare well in new ways and new methods to keep your preparation interesting and enjoyable.

4. Avoid distractions: Do not waste time. Avoid social media that could be a waste of time. Instead, use internet intelligently. Participate in discussion forums and watch useful videos related to your syllabus

5. Avoid personal/professional stress: Put off dealing with your personal or professional problems until you complete your exam. Taking stress before exams will do you no good. Take the help of a trusted friend/family member and gear up for your exam, which is more important. Create for yourself a positive environment. You should be enjoying your preparation.

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence. All the best!
