The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection conducts a Common Written Examination (IBPS PO/MT) to recruit Probationary Officers/Management Trainees. You will have objective question paper having 100 questions from English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. You are required to complete the exam in one hour. Check SuccessLynk site to know about exam dates, syllabus, exam pattern and much more.

As the exam is highly competitive, you need to strategize your preparation to have cutting edge over others. Here are a few strategies to beat the competition.

  • Analyse the marking weightage: Check the marking scheme and analysis of IBPS PO syllabus topic-wise for Reasoning, English and Quantitative Aptitude. Though there could be some changes in marking weightage, many times, the pattern remains same. In Reasoning, expect maximum Qs from seating arrangements, around 5-6 Qs from logical reasoning, around 5 Qs each from syllogism, blood relations, coding decoding, coded inequalities, puzzles and tabulation. Expect fewer Qs from input output, alphanumeric series and data sufficiency. In English Language paper, expect maximum Qs from Reading Comprehension and Cloze Test. Expect around 5 Qs from Paragraph Complete/ Sentence Correction, Para jumbles. Expect fewer Qs from Multiple Meaning/Error Spotting and Para jumbles, Miscellaneous. In Quantitative Aptitude, expect maximum Qs say around 15, from Data Interpretation. Expect around 5Qs from Sequence & Series, Permutation, Combination & Probability and Simplification. Expect 2-3 Qs from Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Number Systems and Work, Time & Distance. Expect very few Qs from Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Surds, Indices and Mensuration topics like Cylinder, Cone and Sphere.
  • Plan your study and prepare well: Get the right books. Click http://blog.successlynk.com/leading-reference-books-banking-exams/ to view the list of books you can refer for your preparation. You need not buy too many books as it will only confuse you in the end. Prepare your study based on the available time and syllabus to be completed. Check the cut-off marks of previous years. Set a few hours daily for study. In your timetable allot time for revision and practice. Have realistic targets for your daily study. Make notes which you can refer later.
  • Revise and practice: Do more number of revisions. Nothing replaces practice. While practicing, apply all shortcuts, tricks and techniques. Focus on increasing speed and accuracy as they matter most. Set slotted time and try to complete certain number of questions during that time.
  • Take mock tests: Mock tests help you to get the real feel of the exam. Take up mock tests at the same time as you would on the exam day. Dress up in the same way. Click https://www.successlynk.com/exams/ibps-po-prelims to view the range of exams that help you in exam preparation. Take feedback and know where you need to focus and prepare accordingly.
  • Keep away from distractions: Keep away from social media, unnecessary surfing of internet and be away from negative. Read inspirational books and eat right.

The harder you work for something, the greater you’ll feel when you achieve it. All the best!
