Key strategies to beat the competition in the APPSC (Group 3 – Grade IV) Panchayat Secretary Screening test

A Panchayat Secretary works for the development of Villages and Panchayat. This job is considered as one of the most respectful jobs. There will be a Screening Test and Mains Exam for the selection. Follow these key strategies to clear the APPSC Panchayat Secretary (Group 3 – Grade IV) screening test.

1. Understand the exam: First know the basics of the exam such as eligibility, syllabus, exam pattern, exam fees and important dates. The screening test contains two parts: Part A on General Studies & Mental Ability and Part B on Rural Development and Problems in Rural Areas with special reference to Andhra Pradesh. Each part has 75 questions, of one mark each, to be answered in 75 minutes. Total marks 150 and total duration of the exam 150 minutes. 2. Make a study plan: Divide your time to study so as to cover the important topics of the syllabus. Allot time for news and note the important points. Practice mental ability questions. Include time for revision and practice.

3. Cover the important areas of study: Note the current affairs for the past six months to one year prior to the exam. First read about Andhra Pradesh, then national and international current affairs. Read the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment Acts. Note the Government Policies, Schemes and Programmes of Andhra Pradesh and the nation. Read Eenadu and Hindu Newspaper, follow ETV News @ 9 PM. Read AP Magazine and follow the latest Socio-Economic Survey of AP and the budget of AP. Also, study the latest Economic Survey of India and India’s Budget. Note the Current Affairs related to Science and Technology. Read NCERT General Science and Social studies books of Class VI to X. Also, read the topics related to Physical geography of India and Andhra Pradesh. Practice logical reasoning, analytical ability and data interpretation. Know the basics of data analysis.

4. Solve previous question papers of APPSC Group III Panchayat Secretary (Grade – IV): Solve previous years’ question papers and analyse the pattern. Note the questions that are repetitive. Focus on those topics more.
