Pointers on how to prepare systematically for the APPSC (Group 3 – Grade IV) Panchayat Secretary Main Exam

A Panchayat secretary plays a crucial role in the development of Panchayat and Villages.The screening test and the mains are conducted by the state government of AP. The mains exam has objective questions. As the syllabus is same for both the exams, you can start preparing for the mains along with the screening test. Let us look at some pointers that help you to crack the exam.

1. Understand the exam: First you need to check the eligibility, syllabus, important dates etc. from SuccessLynk site.Understand the syllabus and exam pattern thoroughly.

3. Make a study timetable: Prepare a timetable that allows you to cover all topics. Allot time for revision and practice. Make study a part of your daily routine and strictly follow it.Allot time to read newspaper daily and note the important points.

4. Prepare your own notes: While preparing for the exam, note down important points so that you can refer later. Focus on the important areas such as current affairs, Government policies, schemes and programmers of the state and nation. Note the 73rd and 74th constitutional amendment acts. For current affairs note down the state, national and international important events and news of past six months to one year prior to the exam. Note the statistics formulae such as mean, median, mode, variance and coefficient of variation. Note the developments in science and technology. Understand the public policies, reforms and e-governance initiatives of the state. Have clear idea of disaster management in AP by knowing the strategies and how remote sensing and GIS are applied in assessing disasters. Know the roles and responsibilities of Panchayat secretary. Understand the Panchayat Raj system and the various welfare schemes.

5. Practice and solve previous question papers: Practice makes one perfect. Solve previous question papers as you may get some questions from them. Taking up mock tests gives you the real feel of the exam and on the exam day, it will be easier for you to manage your time well. It will also give you a chance to understand your weak areas and mistakes you keep repeating. By correcting yourself and improvising your weak areas, your chances of scoring will be better in the actual exam.
