Things you should avoid to make your repeat attempt work at this year’s SSC CGL Tier-II exam

Posted on October 30, 2019 by Successlynk

SSC CGL Tier II exam is round the corner. The aspirants who are appearing for the exam need to apply a focused strategy. Check SuccessLynk site for notification, updates, important dates and much more. Let us see some of the things you need to avoid to make your repeat attempt work this year.

  1. Avoid inconsistency: Have a proper study plan. Schedule study in your daily routine. Allot time for revision, practice and mock tests. Prioritise your study targets daily and stick to your schedules. Prepare short notes so that you can refer later.

  1. Avoid complicated study material: You need not collect and refer too many books that you can’t handle. If you see the heap of unread books, it will only cause you depression. Instead, follow a few standard books. When referring a book, check if it is easy to understand. Do not go through complicated study material. Look at previous paper level and prepare accordingly. Increase the difficulty level in Quantitative Ability. Focus on Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Mensuration.

  1. Avoid long continuous hours of study: While studying, avoid long, continuous study hours. Taking breaks helps to relax and retain better.

  1. Avoid ignoring mock tests: Give as many mock tests as possible. Mock tests create real feel of exam environment. You will be able to manage time better and understand where you can improve. Analyse every mock test and see track the improvement in your time management in each section and speed and accuracy in answering questions. 1. Avoid restricting yourself to just above cut off: Know the cut-offs in each section. Do not restrict yourself to just above cut off score. Try to score much above the cut-off score.

  1. Avoid last minute preparation: Last minute preparation doesn’t help you. It will only increase the stress in you. Relax well before the exam day and be confident.

  1. Avoid guess work: During the exam, avoid guessing the answers. If you give wrong answers, negative marking reduces your score and your chances of clearing the exam to the next level will decrease. If any question appears lengthy or difficult, mark them for later review. You can come back to them later.

Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in. All the best!
