Every year, a large number of students take National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Post Graduation for the second time. If you haven’t fared well in the exam, and want to give it a second chance, follow new strategies to plan and reappear for the exam.
There are some things you need to avoid to differentiate you from everyone. Let us look at them.
1. Avoid starting out as if you are appearing for the first time: You have one factor that differentiates you from everyone who will give NEET PG for the first time, which is experience. Use this to your advantage. Do not start your preparation straight away by making a timetable. First, find out where you went wrong. This analysis of your earlier exam will help you a long way.
2. Avoid focusing only on your strengths: By focusing only on strengths and keeping off the weak subjects, you will not be able to improve. So, start with the subject in which you secured less marks. Study it at the beginning of your preparation and follow up with multiple revisions. Make notes for all chapters and topics in this subject. Make a last minute revision list that will be useful to you just before the exam.
3. Avoid using the same strategies as before: Be creative in learning and making notes. Use charts and diagrams to help you remember better. Watch videos, documentaries related to your topics. Refer good books and magazines. Subscribe to newsletters of related sites that would give you good information. Focus on understanding concepts, instead of simply memorising them. Know the latest trends. Make your own strategy as per your convenience. You need not follow others’ strategies. But be consistent in your preparations.
4. Avoid putting off revisions till the end: As soon as you complete a subject, revise the topics. Revisions help you to retain better. If you have any doubts, this is the right time to get them clarified instead of waiting until the last minute.
5. Avoid time wastage: You will be wasting a lot of precious time if you spend too much of time on social media. Learn to manage your time during exam. While preparing, map out questions where you tend to get stuck. Then plan the time you would spend answering the questions. Take up mock tests from SuccessLynk and previous year question papers in a very exam-like setting.
If you want to crack NEET PG this time, put in more effort with perseverance. You already know how difficult or easy the exam is. You are writing it for the second time. Value it, give it your all, and do what it takes. All the best!
