You are a JEE aspirant keen to get into top engineering college. You have chosen pen and paper exam (offline) to take the exam. This offline mode exam will be conducted on April 8, 2018. Offline mode is a tried and tested method of conducting the entrance exams. You’ll have to fill bubbles to answer the paper. These days most of the exams are conducted in online mode, including the JEE Advanced. JEE Main may go complete online from 2019.
Whether its online or offline mode of exam, if you have prepared well and are strong in the concepts, then you will surely get through the exam. - Early start: Start your preparation months ahead the exam. Know the syllabus well and understand the exam pattern from SuccessLynk
- Be thorough with the concepts: JEE requires in-depth knowledge of concepts. Read NCERT textbooks but you may also need proper training for offline mode of answering the exam. For Mains exam, you’ll also have to cover additional topics from CBSE syllabi. Avoid selective study in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as there will be intermingling of concepts from various topics. Focus on problem-solving and overcoming the weaker areas in preparation.
- Focus on speed and accuracy: The key to success in JEE Main is speed and accuracy. So try to increase your speed and accuracy while solving the problems. Remember the formulae and know how to apply shortcuts and tips and tricks.
- Focus on time management: Time is very crucial in any competitive exam. If you can solve a question within 60 seconds, it’s an easy question. But if you take 2 to 3 minutes then it’s a moderate question and if you feel that you can’t solve based on your current knowledge, then it’s a tough question. Divide the time so that you complete the easy and moderate ones first and you’ll have some time to think and solve the tough ones.
- Practice Model papers and previous question papers: One good way to prepare for offline exam is to practice a number of model papers and previous question papers. Practice as much as you can. Practice at least one model paper per week. It will help you to strengthen all the important concepts and analyse your performance in the exam.
